Karli Larson, Charities and Communities Manager

Hello, friends of TisBest Philanthropy! My name is Karli Larson and I am the new TisBest Charities and Communities Manager.  My role here at TisBest is multifaceted, but will focus primarily on the relationships between TisBest and our wonderful charity partners as well as building our TisBest community in the areas of social media and the TisBest blog. This will allow Chad Edwards, formerly the main point of contact for TisBest charity partners, to focus on his new role as Director of Creative Services at TisBest.
I come to TisBest with a long history of involvement in the non-profit world. As a former volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul and Seattle’s YouthCare, I am a firm believer in working hard to empower others to live safer, more secure, and more compassionate lives. I am currently in my third year as a certified Roots of Empathy instructor, bringing empathy-based programming into an elementary school classroom.
Professionally, I am a storyteller. Working in marketing and communications for Inc. 500 companies has given me the opportunity to communicate important information in a hundred different ways, from press releases to pertinent, educational articles. Every company, whether for profit or not, has a story to tell. There are real people working hard every day to bring marvelous visions to fruition, and I have always believed these stories deserve to be heard.
At TisBest, the story is simple: all of us, no matter our age, education or economic status, have the power to help “give a better world.” We can do so in our everyday lives by working to love and support the people around us, and we can do so by reducing the gifts of meaningless “stuff” and giving others the opportunity to support a charity that is close to their heart.
I’m honored to be part of such a wonderful organization, and excited to continue the work of building a strong, charitable community and providing outstanding support and resources for hundreds of hardworking charities. We are all united in our efforts to make the world a better place, and I feel very lucky to be in a position where I can see this effort in action every single day, one charity gift card at a time.
